Vertical Slider Windows

North Star’s single and double vertical sliders deliver the traditional double-hung appearance with the convenience of easy, spring-balanced movement and tilt-in sashes.

Vertical sliders can be customized for the look of yesteryear with an offset meeting rail although their performance is decidedly modern. Standard Low-e glass, triple weather stripping and Super Spacer® technology put an end to cold spots and energy wastage.

The sturdy welded frame and sash, and the galvanized steel reinforcements in the sash and mullions of some sizes, provide performance-tested resistance to forced entry.

Horizontal Slider

North Star's popular horizontal slider – in single, double and three-lite tilt models – delivers effective ventilation with fingertip operation over a wide range of openings.

Windows tilt in for easy cleaning. Our three-lite slider is specially tailored for wide openings, potentially replacing several windows as well as associated framing to gain the most of available sunlight.

Horizontal sliders are available with superior standard features such as Low-e, triple weatherstripping, welded sash and frame, recessed finger latches and advanced glide shoes on the sash.

Casement Windows

Installed singularly, assembled in combinations, or with picture windows, the North Star casement is a highly versatile window suited to many applications. Multiple locking points in sizes taller than 22 inches provide stability and superior resistance to forced entry, as does a 3 1/4-inch welded frame and welded sash. Adjust the sash to the perfect angle to catch passing breezes… the casement offers more ventilation area than any other style. Triple weather stripping, Low-e glass and Super Spacer® technology keep energy bills under control. North Star's revolutionary EZ-Screen makes removing the screen incredibly easy.

Picture Windows

Get the whole picture with a fixed window that delivers extraordinary energy savings and clear sight lines.

The picture window is available with a sash so it can be assembled with operating casement or awning windows for a uniform profile, or without a sash for an even larger viewing area. The picture window offers the greatest selection in sizing – up to a maximum of 35 square feet.
Being fixed, the picture window is already among the most economical and energy-efficient styles available. North Star includes the energy advantage of Low-e glass and Super Spacer® technology in every window, and a 3 1/4-inch welded frame provides performance-tested security against forced entry.

Hopper and Awning Windows

The awning is hinged at the top and opens outward, with a screen on the inside. The hopper is hinged at the bottom and opens inward, with a screen on the outside. Awnings/hoppers are an excellent choice where ventilation is an important factor, since virtually the entire window can be opened.
As with the casement style, North Star awnings and hoppers perform extremely well because the sash closes against the frame and can be locked. The thick, welded frame and sash and cam locks have been independently tested and shown to resist forced entry. Low-e glass and Super Spacer® technology are standard features in every window.

Bay & Bows Windows

The North Star bow window brings together four or five individual windows to create a pleasing semi-circular projection from a room. The more traditional bay relies on two side windows angled at 30 degrees or 45 degrees and one main window. Either bay or bow will deliver a dose of Vitamin D.

The standard head and seat is maintenance-free 3/4-inch melamine but the option of a medium oak veneer can add a traditional elegance. An optional insulated head and seats are also available. North Star provides the energy-saving advantage of Low-e glass and Super Spacer® technology as standard features.

Shaped Windows

Architectural windows are available in a wide range of custom shapes and sizes and will arrive ready to put in – with factory-installed accessories such as brick mould and extensions so the job will go more quickly. Dozens of architectural grill styles are available to enhance the visual impact.

The unique appearance gives up nothing to performance. North Star’s custom and architectural shapes are packed with the same attractive features standard in all North Star windows including Low-e glass and Super-Spacer technology so condensation won’t fog up dramatic views.
